Beer, and more specifically L’Arogante, has once again brought people together and formed a team of friends & beer lovers with a shared passion to brew delicious beers, without compromise. Our collective has a wide range of talents: brewers, zythologists, logistics whizz kids, commercial talents and very experienced tasters. Ghent is our home base.
Our story is one of encounters, passion for beer and a shared sense of humor. Somewhat off, not always politically correct. That’s also how we chose our name.
And that’s how we brew, for the fun of it. The only pressure we put on ourselves is to make beautiful beers that we like and to enjoy ourselves. These are about all the rules we need.
We work together with brouwerij Maenhout, where we translate our recipes to Thijs Maenhout’s installation and brew together.
Naturally we daydream about our very own brewpub in Ghent… when we’re all grown up. Who knows…

Anthony is our logistics wizard. No keg too heavy, no road too long, no beer tap installations unkown to him. Always willing to go the extra mile to bring beers to our customers (and himself to our beers).
Daniëlla grew up with table beer and has travelled many beer horizons since. She is a psychotherapist, beer sommelier and brewster. Besides psychoanalysis and beer, graphic design is another passion of hers.
Ivo is a gourmet, fan of the brewers, always prepared to lend a helping hand and is a fierce quality inspector. Beer- and musiclover with a big heart for bars and pubs, behind or at the bar.
Leslie is the original brewer of the L’Arogante beers and a passionate homebrewer. He provides us with ideas for our recipes based on his homebrews and the inspiration he gets from friends in the beer industry in Belgium and abroad.
Pedro is a man of many skills. As manager of L’Arogante and Bassin, he’s always busy. He is a connaisseur, crazy about good food and beer. As you can tell from his accent, his roots are in West-Flanders but Gent(brugge) is his home.
Thierry started to drink beers shortly after being born. As is common with passions, he plunged into brewing his own beers and graduated as beer sommelier and brewer. He has an outspoken love for hoppy beers and stouts.
Our first beers both started out as homebrews in a garage in Ghent. An IPA with a serious amount of Sabro and a Black IPA where coffee, chocolate and hops play the leading roles.
